Weekly Blog [12/7-12/13]

These are some more tiny sketchs for the necklaces I'm making for friends and family for chirstmas. I'm still undecided on the style I want so I continue to make tiny skteches whenever I have time.
These are some puppets that my boyfriend made for a spanish project. I'm really in love with the style of his characters and the smoothness of the design. I like how they stay true to the original Wizard of Oz characters but have their own uniqueness and style about them.

This is a picture of a cake my aunt made for my cousin's birthday party yesterday. This cake teaches me that art can be created in a variety of forms. Not just a painting, drawing or photograph. Art could be cake, a song, a dance just about anything that is made creative through a person's expression.

Weekly Blog [11/30-12/6]

This sketch came about as I begin working on my christmas gifts this year. I'm making my family and friends (well the girls anyhow) necklaces made from scrabble pieces. I'm making tiny collages from magazines, scrapboook paper and also my own artwork. I'm going for a nature theme. Black is a dynamic color. I want the flowers or trees to be bold and have the backgrounds colorful.

This is a stop animation short film I made with my friends. We just took sidewalk chalk and made the frames but adding more and more to a drawing. The music is also original. Basically my friend banged on a drum for the whole part of the film. At the end, my other friend played something on the guitar and we edited it by playing that part backwards. I think this short film shows how easy it is to create art and express yourself just about anywhere.

This happens to be the best stop animation short I have seen so far. The artist Kirsten Lepore is amazing. Her website is full of fun and very creative films and art. The intro to her website even is amazing. http://www.kirstenlepore.com/
